My new Neofinetia falcata Higashidemiyako :D

Well, after waiting for over a week, I finally got my Neo and supplies in the mail. I potted him up in a traditional fuuran pot. I really like the way he looks in it

I was impressed with the size of my Neo. It said three growths on the eBay description but when I got it it also had four new growths starting

Not sure if it's easy to discern or not but it has some nice red and white variation on the leaves. Cannot wait to see him mature and hopefully flower next year!

Very, VERY nice!! I love the way you have it potted. I did mine, but not as much sphag. (I'm still scared of it )

Maybe I'll pull them out and try a re-do. Did you use the net pot inside?

By the way, this one smelled SOOOOO good!!! Very sweet and nice.

Yeah, I used a 4 inch net pot with the rim trimmed off. Surprisingly, this method barely used any sphagum. I ordered a mixed pack of AAAA and AAAAA NZ sphagum and just doubled over long single strands on the pot, placed the Neo and then added a little more moss around the roots and then stuck it in the pot. The entire innards of the pot are open so I shouldn't have to ever worry about overwatering

Hi - I just recently won a neo at my orchid society raffle. The grower said to grow it with my vandas. It's in a small pot with lots of holes, nothing inside, with long, long, long roots. He said to water everyday. Anyone else doing this, or seen it this way???

Yes, you could absolutely grow it this way, they are vandaceous afterall. If you don't want to water every day, you could pot it up traditionally, like bearded orchid, or with anything else really!
