I think my NOID phal is fragrant?!

I picked this NOID phal off the clearance rack at Lowes. I could see green roots growing through the clear pot and it had three new roots shooting out at the top. It was on the sale rack as it only had three flowers left. Unfortunately most of its shelf mates were close to death. I snatched this one up and took it home for $4.99

I repotted it and it had crazy, healthy roots so I was happy. Over the last couple of days, I keep catching a wiff of something sweet. I finally figured out it's my phal. Except it only smells some of the time - making me think that maybe I'm crazy! It's a sort of sweet smell, almost like a rose but very faint - and no, there are no other plants around it that smell.

Is it even possible for a NOID phal to smell fragrant? None of my others smell of anything. I've added some pics because I know every likes to see It has pink stripes on the back of the petals. I didn't even notice until I got it home. I think that it's kind of cool !!

Yep I have noticed too, when the humidity and temperature is right and the flower has reached it's peak my both Phal noid and even Doritaenopsis are slightly fragrant.

Of course, NOIDs can be fragrant! Just because they don't have an official name doesn't mean they can't have great qualities.

My first 'chid was a NOID phal, and it is very fragrant - it has a sweet citrusy smell, which seems appropriate because the flowers are yellow. I can get high smelling it... or is that because I'm hyperventilating?

Fragrant 'chids can definitely be more fragrant at certain times of the day. My Leptotes bicolor can fill the room with fragrance in the early morning, and later in the day you wouldn't know it was there. Same for some of my catts.
