My latest find at the supermarket

A couple of weeks ago, I was at my local supermarket and I decided to check out their orchids. I almost never do this because a while I made a vow to not buy anymore NOID orchids, and it seems like everyone in my area pulls the labels out and discards them (I find this frustrating to no end, but I really want to know what I am getting. One of the plants caught my eye, and it was labelled, I pulled the label out and found it was a Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure' AM/AOS. Not only was the plant labelled, but it was a plant that was on my wish list!

Anyways, I got it home and repotted it. I wanted to get out of its packed down sphagnum moss and into my preferred medium.

Well I decided to take a couple of pictures since some of the flowers are starting to collapse now. So here you go:

Very nice color, texture and the veinings of the bloom is shimmering...the plant is healthy with a long spike...it might give you more blooms if you do the right thing for it...

Finding a tagged orchid in a supermarket is a rare find in my experience, that's great and is beautiful

What a great find !!
I bet you will look from now on
How did its root look when you repotted it ?
You're a lucky ducky to find that beauty!

The roots were in surprisingly good condition. I only found a couple that were rotted. And, believe it or not, the bulk of the rotted/dead roots were the aerial roots. I repotted in a good clear pot with medium bark (this has become my preferred media for phals it dries in less than a week when in my grow tent, I have changed over from sphagnum my entire collection save for the smallest specimens). So, yeah, the roots were in extremely good condition all things considered.
