Dendrobium propagation

Hi, I propagated my orchid last wed, 23rd July.
Just want to know how can I tell if my propagated plant is growing roots, or thriving well? If I can't tell so soon, how long will it take to see if it's adapting well to the environment and its new pot?

Thanks!

What method of propagation did you use?

it should be fine,
it might take a little while (might be a week or two or a couple more, depending on the weather) to climatise to the new pot, but if you treat it the ame as the other one, it should be fine, how many canes in the division?

it will take two weeks for the new roots to show up. Orchid is slow growing. Provide the correct environment is crucial. Where is your growing area facing?

Hello Michael!
There Are two canes. One is an old cane, attaching to it is a young shoot.

Hello Digitalgate!
I think my growing area is facing the north-east direction.

That's not a lot of plant for a division... was it a keikei or you actually split a plant at the base? When I split a plant I prefer to keep a minimum of 3 older canes and a lead just to ensure the plant has enough reserves to allow it to establish and grow new roots.

Preffered division should be when there are atleast 5 and new growth seperate atleast 2 +new growth.

It sounds like you have divided your orchid into pieces that are too small. Your plants will probably take some time to get going again. Expect new roots in the next cycle - it's impossible to say when that will be since we do not know where your plant is in its' growing/flowering cycle. It may be 2 weeks like digitalgate says, it might be much lionger, even months. In the future take Dan's or zaeem's advice and do not divide so small. If you have questions sometimes it's better to ask before you cut.

Hello all!
i'm a lil confused whether if it's through division, or through producing keikis.
but here are the photos.

anyway,if the photos are not visible here,
there are photos in my "pictures for my enquiry" album.
the captions of the related photos are the same as the title of the thread.
