Question Dendrobium Keiki?

Hello everyone.

Can someone tell me if this growth on the side of a nobile type Dend is a keiki?

Yup, fairly common on a few of mine as well, I keep mine attached and allow them to bloom along side the others, makes for a nice show!

Should I leave it or attempt to remove it? The plant is getting too populated with many canes, not sure what I should do.

What is the best practice?

Personally, I would just leave it there. If you want to propagate the plant, you could let the keiki mature a bit more and then carefully separate it and pot it up. It's really a matter of what you prefer, the plant will be happy with either approach.

since it doesn't appear to have any roots of its own, removing it would just mean its death. if you want to remove it, wait until there are sufficient roots showing, then it's just a simple matter of slicing it off with a razor blade and potting the baby up.
