Toh Gardens in Lorong Pasu, Sungei, has a blue Dendrobium named Den. blue but it's cross is unknown. Den Reha Zehran is also blue. Song Gardens also at Sungei has Vanda. Pachara Delight which is blue. I have one about to flower. You will also find Ascda Pricess Mikasa Blue, Aranda Norah Alsogoff Blue, Vanda Banjong Sky Blue & Vanda Dona Rome Sanchez X Kasems Delight. Woon Leng is also another good nursery in the same area. Don't waste your time on upper Thompson. Digitalgate will advise you better. Brianb Last edited by brianb; 07-29-2011 at 10:12 AM. |

Thanks BrianB. But the blue I'm looking for is actually blue. There's one that u mentioned that I like. But it's a vanda. And it's difficult for me to grow them in HDB balconies. I'm looking mostly for dendrobiums or philaenopsis as they require lesser light. Any suggestions? |

Hallo , blue as in sky blue? Only vanda coerulea and it's hybrid has sky blue . I don't think in my limited experience , seen one yet . Although locally nursery owner dye white ones into blue . That not natural , it is use for display only . However if you have $110000 , sp has dendrobium that glow in the dark . The plant dies easily too . They use jellyfish gene to insert into DNA of plant . If I have that money , I would spent on it . |

Hello. Im looking for this kind of blue.http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...VNtPsj-ADJC2_A Or something in that shade. So long as the moment I see it, the colour is blue instead of purple. And believe me. If I have that kinda money I'll definitely buy it even if it lasts for only one day. |

Maneganden, you will only find that blue in cut flowers. Those dens are treated with blue dye. They do not occur naturally.

Maneganden, I know of no blue Phalaenopsis. However, suggest that you start a new thread on a request for a blue Phalaeopsis. Some of the Phal experts like Ron in Southern NSW might pick it up. Brianb |

that's dyed or photoshopped. (the phals are dyed.) i've seen the odd den that is more blue, but they're all base purple.

For the most part, I think the word "blue" is a bit of a misnomer in the plant world, not just orchids. Most "blue" flowers I've seen really are a shade of purple.

I know you said you wanted a den, but Ascocenda Princess Mikasa Blue will grow in a pot with coarse bark, and light between a phal and a den. I don't see why you couldn't grow it on your balcony. It's my avatar, and it blooms regularly for me.

Have anyone got any Liberty White or Ascocenda princess mikasa blue for sale?? If there is, pls send me a message with the price and photo please. |
