Is this an orchid fertilizer (non-urea)?

Dyna-Grow makes a good product, although I've only used the Grow formula(more balanced) and KLN. I'm sure it is as good as any other bloom boost formula. I like that their ferts have trace minerals included. I believe that all their formulas are urea-free.

Yes, Urea-free. I have been using the Gro for a few years now. I am geting good growth....I don't really have anything to compare it to since it is the only one I've used since coming back to the states. I have a few that are ready to bloom and have been using the bloom formula on them. I'm not sure if it will make a significant difference or not. I guess only time and experience will tell.

I used the Dyna-gro ferts for a number of years and always got mediocor results. What took me so long to switch I don't know. I use Grow-mor products now and think I get better results. Just another opinion to add to the pot.

I use the Dyna-Gro Grow during the main growing season (now) and then I switch to the Dyna-Gro Bloom during the dull late fall and winter months or when the plant is approaching the time when it should bloom. The Bloom formula has lower nitrogen (which promotes foliage) for when the plants slow down. The Dyna-Gro formulas were developed for hydroponics, and contain many nutrients. I've been using them for years. Every once in a while I throw in something else to mix things up.

I never used Dyna-Gro on my orchids, but me and mom used to use it all the time outside and made a few tests with it.
We discovered it did not caused flower, however, once flowering starts it helps the plant makes more blooms and seems to make them last longer.
The tests where made on Dahlias. Plant started at the same time inside around march, planted outside end of may and the flowering happened around July for all plants. Yet the half that received Dyna-Gro did grow a heck of a lot more flowers, bigger flowers than those going on regular 20-20-20 fertilizer.
The reason I do not use it inside is because most of my orchids are too young yet to flower or I do not yet know their flowering season hence making the Dyna-Gro useless.

"Bloom" may be a good fertilizer for "rest periods", but don't expect it to "boost" blooming.

The simple fact is that a plant will grow best and bloom to its genetic maximum capability if grown under ideal culture, which includes sufficient nutrition. There is nothing that can push it beyond that, nor will any nutrient compensate for weak aspects of the culture.

If you use the Grow formula, and have a good feeding regimen, you should be fine. The Bloom formula might be an advantage if you have been overdoing the nitrogen by using a 30-10-10 or something, but you'd be eliminating the bloom-quashing effect of the excess nitrogen, not boosting anything.
