Greenhouse re vamp

Well, hopefully, all will come together with my little green house. Modifications include a warm seed propagation tray with a container of hot water on top of that with a submersible heater set at 32 degrees.

At the top I have a computer fan to stop the condensation and help air flow.Initially I thought I may need a control regulator to dictate the amount of down draft, but the fan seems to be quite adequate without this add on.

With the water container, I have a lid with 3/8 holes in it. I am in two minds as to weather I should utilize it. What are the dis/advantages of this, perhaps some one can point me in the right direction. Regards.....AL

A lid on the water container may or may not do anything. On one hand it could restrict the amount of evaporation but this may be offset by the insulating effect of the lid which would raise the average temperature of the water and perhaps create more water vapour... just experiment.

I agree with Dan, just experiment, that's what 90% of this game is.

What suits one setup, will not suit another, so by passing on your experiences others may learn or help with things they have tried.

Keep us in the loop.

This morning I had some condensation on the plastic walls of the green house but on examination, none on the plants. This was more by good luck than anything else as it is the direction of the fan.

Yes, as you both say, its trial and error, but at the moment I would be loathe to change anything as I seem to have the right mixture.

Temperatures this week will vary, and on Thursday it is expected to be 20 degrees in Adelaide (70) so that should be a welcome relief from the cold. Regards.....AL
