Roots ans shoots

I think I'm getting the hang of this orchid thing! Well, besides the poor babies in Orchid ICU from root rot , and then there was the sunburn thing...

Here are some of my happier orchids:

Lc. Mini Song "La Primera Morada' - new growth

Angraecum didieri - giant root, and a couple of buds forming

Encyclia radiata - new growth

this NOID phal is throwing out CRAZY roots right now. They are the size of a pencil, and they keep coming!

another phal NOID

Cattleya Belairensis

Prosthechea fragrans

Oncidium Sharry Baby

Cymbidium NOID

Phalaenopsis equestris

and last but not least, my poor Sedirea japonica - apparently no ill effects from my attempt to fry it

Wooo Hooo - Sedirea looks good! Good to see that nice green center growth - keep a lookout for a new leaf on top!

Isn't it FUN to see new roots/growth? I love it!

They all look great! The didierii will give you some huge roots. Mine has so many roots and the longest is over a foot long. I have mine mounted and it is so firmly attached; I would love to get it on a bigger mount but afraid if I remove it Ill damage the roots.

Good morning Synda
I think it was Katrina that said when this happens like yours for example she just found a larger mount and attached old mount with plant to the new mount rather than damaging the roots or plant. How big is yours now and what's the shape of the mount (flat, bulky, short, long?) Just wondered if this was possible with the one you currently have ....I will have to hunt to see if you have a thread for yours to see its mount. So we don't hijack this thread

Congrats on all the new growth Brigitte! It shows you're doing right by them and they are happy It's just as rewarding as the blooms I think.
