Yep, NICE! This the time of year it seems the Phals want to do some growing. I get excited every time I see a new leaf or root bud...ALMOST as much as seeing a flower spike. Just knowing they're growing so we must be doing something to their liking is GREAT.
ENJOY!
Tony

Can't agree with everybody more. I received my Phalaenopsis lowii a few months ago and when I got it it was dry as a bone and only had one leaf and the one leaf was pretty badly damaged. I literally thought it was on deaths door, but after sphag and bagging it, it is starting to grow a new leaf (its the last time I buy a plant from Thailand). Needless to say I am ecstatic! Of course, none of my friends or family or family grow orchids, so when I tell them about it with the same kind of excitement as a kid in an amusement park, I get funny looks. But hey, I have found that orchid growing is a series of small triumphs followed by the occasional disaster, but it is so rewarding when something good happens.

I think the first time one of my 'kids' puts out a keiki, I'll be tempted to send out birth announcements.

Cheers,
Tony

Hahaha! My BF thinks I'm crazy that I am so into my plants. I told him I was thinking of giving them names, because it would be funny and kinda help when I talk about them, and my BF just rolled his eyes and said I was a tree huger. I told him what you said and he said at least I'm not the only weird person about orchids!! LOL
