Question Miltonia lowermost leaf yellowing, HELP!

hi all ,

i know it's so silly to keep posting whenever a tiny tiny thing happens to my orchids , but i'm still a newbie and i love learning from u guys, this board is so friendly and helpful i'm just soooooooo lucky i came across it !

so tell me , my miltonia is having its lowermost leaf yellowing , is this a sign of disease? does it mean too much sun , too much water? i water it every 5 days is that ok, and have it near a west window, 1-2 hours of direct sunlight only .

please tell me if having one of its leaves yellow is normal ??

thanks a million to all of u beautiful orchid growers!

Farah

It could be a lot of things - plants naturally loose leaves over time - when they have "done their duty" they turn yellow and leave the job to the new leaves. Sometimes in the transition of adapting to a new environment they get a yellow leaf - hurried out by the change. I wouldn't be overly concerned with just a single leaf at this point. From what you have described it sounds like you are doing fine...............mike
