My first orchid was a NOID phal with 3 "sections", for want of a better word. They are connected, but each has its own roots and each one blooms separately. Puts on quite a show!
But, having said that... I repotted it last week. It was in an 8" pot to accommodate all the roots etc., and I was concerned about it staying too wet in the center. When it came out of the pot, one section was pretty loose, so I just detached it and potted it up separately. It's still a good size phal and looks great. So now I have "Siamese twins" (instead of triplets) and their slightly smaller sister.
Wish I knew what cross it is -- it has clusters of smallish light yellow flowers on not-too-tall spikes, with a fragrance like daffodils.
