| Duct Tape
Well, I've always heard that if it can't be fixed with duct tape, it can't be fixed. So, when I accidentally broke part of a new spike almost in two, I got a small piece of duct tape and put it back together. It's been about a week and the spike is still green. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Lisa

You're good. I have it on reliable authority that, throughout recorded (and unrecorded) history, duct tape has never failed it's assigned task. Enjoy the blooms.

Been there done that. Unfortunately the broken portion will probably end up turning brown. Mine was only halfway broken and even with the tape still turned brown. Hopefully yours will have a better outcome.

Good luck! I broke a spike once and used a butterfly clip to hold the two pieces together and it ended blooming for me.

Number one was the blackberry! Can you believe that. Duct tape is always in service. Can't say the same for a blackberry.

Down here in the South, we call duct tape Alabama Chrome. I've used it for many things, but never to fix an orchid spike. I'll have to add that to the list. I hope it works and you will post a picture when it blooms.

And when duct tape doesn't fit the application, binder-twine is the next thing I go for, lol. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya! |
