Is it a good idea to clean Phal leaves?

I know this is a really basic question, but I searched the topic on the board and haven't come up with an answer. My plants are kept on our screened lanai and things can get pretty dusty out there, living in sandy ol' FL. So, this morning I sprayed my Phals with Brookn's 'Best Stuff Ever' recipie, then gently wiped them down with a soft cloth. I think they look better, but don't know if this is a good idea in general. I know it works for most houseplants, (not African violets, you need to brush those guys). Any input from you Phalaholics would be most appreciated

It's only for appearance, if they look better and you like what you see, that's all good.

I only clean my plant leaves when the plants are going to a show.

I too live where dust is high and makes a mess of everything. I've. Cleaned my orchids leaves with just a dampened paper towel and gently wiped the leaves cean. I'm careful with the Phals to not have the paper towel to wet to not get water trapped in the nooks and crannys of where leaf joints are and the crown. This is something I need to do again soon .
