So, I just looked up my post and was surprised to see that I polinated my Psychopsis at the end of February....
Wow! Do you think it should be ready by now? It does kind of getting dry and yellowish. Maybe I should put a paper towel around the pod when I go to work tomorrow?
Oh boy! Help!!!
That's how it looks right now.....

Should be any time now from the looks of it. I would put paper towel or coffee filter aroud it in case it splits nd bursts. Wow that's huge looking : )

Dont wait to long to put the coffee filter on it. I did and caught mine just as it was starting to split open. Nearly missed it.

Boy, oh boy............ I stapled a paper towel around the pod last night. I just came back from work....and the pod is split open and there are some seeds there............... So, I am so glad I had some gut feeling it's ready, and you guys helped me to think it's the TIME!!!!!!!!!
What do I do now??? Do I cut the pod (still full of seeds) off and store it together with the seeds that fallen out, or should I wait for most of the seeds to drop??????

Thanks a bunch!!!
I am going to use just a piece of printing paper as I don't have any coffee filters, but I hope it works.

Yeah that could work, or a paper towel might be a bit softer for smushing into a jar/cup. Are you going to send them off to flask? or give it a go at home flasking yourself?

OK!!!!! I just did it!!
And that's how the poor thing is hanging drying up..... You can see the seeds that speeled over the pod when I poored them down from the paper towel....Boy they are tiny. That's the first time I see orchid seeds!!!!!

That's after I cut the column off

That's how it looked when I cut the pod off and opened the paper towel.

Yep, I am planning to try home flasking........

YEAH!!! I know, I was so facinated with how small the seeds were too. I am going to give my hand at home flasking too. Mine is semi out of need because I dont know where flasking places are here, and dealing with one in the states at the moment is so crazy. We will definately have to compare notes once we get full force started.

Sounds like so much fun, if we are going to have few geeks flasking about the same time. I just wish I had more time for my hobby. I work full time...
Thanks again for helping me......

Hi there, I have a couple pods that are growing bigger everyday and I've started wondering about saving the seeds, since I don't plan on doing the flasking right away. Can anyone help me with that info? Thanks!

Depends on the genus. Could be 3 months, could be a year. There's this newfangled invention called "google" that might be of some help.
