repotting

It is necessary for me to re-pot some of my catts. as I just noticed some of the media has broken down.
Currently I am letting the med-course medium soak for a while.
Might someone give me some pointers on this?
The roots are nice green and emerging.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Leeflee

If your medium is breaking down repot. Also when repotting use a pot big enough to allow for 1-2 yrs new growth.

Repotting is part of good culture for healthy, happy orchids.

If you have new roots and new growths on catts now is the time to repot. Also if I have just purchased a blooming catt will wait for it to finish it's bloom cycle and repot. So I can check out the roots and start fresh.

Happy potting! Lucky you!, I love re potting and checking my plants gives me time to see what's going on and I find it relaxing
Have a great day!

When you repot, tuck the bark down among the roots with a pencil or skewer to make things snug. You don't want a loose mix. Orchids like tight shoes. You'll be amazed at how much more medium you can get in this way.

Its always best to repot when the plant is in active growth. Some orchids can be tempermental about repotting at the wrong time & you can set them back. If the media is in real bad shape to the point where it may harm the plant, I would repot it. If the roots all dead, I would cut them off and place the plant back into the pot w/no media until it starts growing again. At that time, repot. Good Luck!

Nice green roots in active growth is the best time to repot. Spring (for me) is almost here (FINALLY!) so that means repotting.
If the media is broken down, definately repot
