| Zyg Question I was reading one of my orchid books this morning and it mentioned about Zygs loving a humidity try under the pot to keep them moist. I have just recently (this week) repotted my Zyg into a fine coir / perlite mix to keep the moisture level retained more than the original course bark, and it is kept outside under shade cloth with my cyms. My question is : Would I still need to keep a humidtity tray under it, or would that just be for indoor use ? This is not mentioned in the book. It hasn't had a humidity tray before, except for during the recent hot spell we had here in Adelaide (4 to 6 weeks ) where I had ALL outside orchids dangling their feet in saucers of diluted liquid fertilizer. They regulated their liquid intake themselves, some showed how thirsty they were while others didn't consume as much. Interesting experiment. Now that the temperatures have dropped to quite livable levels (AT LAST), with cooler temperatures at night, I have taken these saucers away so that they don't get excessive moisture problems due to the decrease in evaporation from the lower temperatures.

| Hey Anton, My first thought is "If it isn't broke, don't fix it." If your Zygo is growing well, no need to mess with it. But I'll ask my buddy john about it. He has about 200 Zygos. Stay tuned. -K |
