Miscellaneous Phal [spike] questions..

My first question:
I repotted one of my phals (made a post about it thinking it had thrips, was actually springtails) a week ago maybe that had a spike on it. I just noticed today that the tip of the spike is a little wrinkly..
I have never seen that before.
Does that mean the plant got too stressed and is starting to abort the spike?
I had to put it in a much smaller pot because its poor roots were all smothered in its old pot. But it is significantly more likely to tip in this pot, and has a couple times. I put an improvised "pot cip" on it now, which is a hair-tie stretched over the whole pot.
Anyway, so I just wanted to see whether you guys think this one's spike is a goner...

Second question: One of my other spiking phals' (little emperor) older leaves started to yellow and die. I'm curious what might have caused this. I was thinking that I may have changed its watering regime slightly. I was watering everyone at least once a week, soaking for about 30-45 minutes (things tend to really dry out here). But this plant is planted in a plastic pot, whereas all of my others are in terra cotta with holes in the side for aeration. So I'm thinking it maybe didn't get to dry out as much as the others and got stressed out. I've since started to water it every other watering, depending on how much it weighs.
Thoughts? Is this anything to be concerned about?

(I feel like an overbearing mother to these poor plants lol..)

Oh and thirdly: I've no idea if this is anything to worry about, but I noticed some darker, blotchy pigment on the underside of the first phal.

Lastly a comment. While watering the other day, I knocked one of the buds off my phal 'june hill', I was much upset. I'm not even totally sure how it happened.

Thanks

I am not sure about the others but they second question just seems like old leaves are done helping the plant and dying off to make room for new ones.

That spike looks pretty normal to me. Most of my phal spikes are more green than that one, but I do have one which is dark, like your plant, and the spike does seem to have a slight texture to it. If you use the bamboo skewer method to be sure the plant doesn't get too dry, I'd think the spike should be okay.

Well it's good to know that other spikes look like that.
I was just concerned cause it hadn't ALWAYS looked wrinkled like that.
