Oncidium spaculatum

My oncidium spaculatum is on a board and was on it when I bought it from a friend; has tons of roots. I have had it a couple of years and no blooms. Should it be potted? and what potting mix has worked well for you?

I have an Onc similar to yours....I got it as a seedling with one pseudobulb in 08....it hasn't bloomed either. It could be that it is still too young, could be that it is not getting the propper culture. What kind of light do you have it in. How aften do you water and how do you water it...any fertilizer? In that time have you had many new growths? There are several factors to look at. And, it may just be a matter of patience. Once you have posted 5 times you should be able to post a picture, it helps to see the plant sometimes. Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum!

Oncidium sphacelatum will grow great on a board or even in an empty pot! It isn't picky except that it needs light as bright as possible, short of burning the foliage. Take it easy on the water 'til spring then, begin to increase water until late summer you should water very heavily, then gradually decrease...and begin the cycle again.

Brenfm, you purchased this species plant from a FRIEND? Your friend should have GIVEN you a big piece! This is one of the easiest Oncidiums to grow

Many growers can't give away divisions fast enough!!
