| If in doubt about the light, use flash, providing the subject isn't more than 10 to 15 feet away. I quite often use flash to highlight things EVEN IN BRIGHT SUN. It's called Fillin Flash, and is balanced by your camera's lightmeter to give just the right amount of light to fill in the shadow areas. Last year I went to the Spring Orchid Show here in Adelaide, and there was sufficient light coming through the windows to not turn on the flash which was on Auto. I TOOK ONE SHOT, TOO DARK, over rode the Auto setting to make the flash work on every shot and that gave me nice balanced images. Here is an image to demonstrate how it works.

| Kmarch, I grow paphiopedilum, dendrobium and phaleonopsis. I can't seem to get the paphiopedilums to rebloom though. One had a bud once, but it shriveled and died. Phaleonopsis do great for me though. I will keep trying. I love all of them... |
