Hi Anton,

Care/grow them among the Catts and Dens. However, Oncs don't need as much bright light as the Catts and Dens.

What type of Onc do you have?

I live in New Jersey and it's winter here. I have my oncidium in a cool west window right now. As Arleneg says, they need slightly less light than a cattleya, but much more than a phal. I find the oncidium likes lots of water. In the winter I water it twice a week, in the summer outdoors a lot more often. If you see accordian pleated leaves, give it more water.

Hi,

I am neither an expert nor an experienced grower of orchids. I have three big oncidiums( I hope?) with no ID and one little one,Oncydium ornithorrhyncum.

I had the big ones next to a window which lets the sun directly on to them for about 4 hours each morning, whenever sun peeks out( winter here). I have 2x40 watts plant lights just above them as well. They were in bad shape when I bought them but they seem to be doing well now with new shoots too. I have had them for just a month or so. Please see the photos.

After reading many of your comments I think I am going to move them away and keep the dendrobiums, and cattleyas next to the window. Perhaps move the the paphiopedilums closer to the window too. They are all pretty small though.

I would appreciate if anyone could ID the three oncidiums.

I moved them all together to photograph them for comparison and possible identification.

Thank you.

Oncidiums in general also like it cooler than Dens or Cattleya. Good air circulation will prevent a ton of problems

pikevi -- Until your Onc blooms, it's difficult to ID it right now. So when it does bloom, please post a pic and we'll help with ID-ing it.
