To Split, or NOT to Split ?

While bagging my Epi keiki, I found this cym.

Do I need to seperate this root growing "keiki" (if that is what this is called), or do I just leave it.

All contributions greatfully accepted.

Ellen is on a distinguished road
Your cym looks pretty young, so I would leave the new growths until the pot is completely filled and running over. Dividing now would just slow down its development.

This one is what you would call a "rescue package".

It was rescued from my neighbour, along with 6 others, and I'm really happy with the way they are all progressing compared with when I first took them over, this one especially. I had to do some major surgical work to separate the dead and dying from the living.

This one was on the bring of no return, but as you can see, it is perking up beautifully.

I just wasn't sure whether to separate it and repot it next to the main bulb or just leave it, which, I might add would have been my preference, but just wanted to run it by the Forum for reassurance.

The others are coming along beautifully as well, and could be recognise from what I had to start with. You would think people would read up on how to care for orchids rather than just bumbling along losing plants. /

I would repot and probably remove the growth, because the major portion of the pant is way too high in the pot. Clearly the last growth didn't manage to get its roots into the pot early enough and most of the roots stopped growing. That new growth on the right is going to have to have the mix moved up to the base of it, or you will have a problem with that growth too. So, I think the start on the left is just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and will probably have to go, or be separately potted up with what ever is in the pot that can go with it. I suspect a burried bulb is the source of the growth, and can be removed with it to support the growth.
