| Low light - medium light - it is all in the eys of the beholder. Both sources probably meant the same with different interpretations. Oncidium alliance plants need 2000-2500 foot candles of light, Phalaenopsis 1500, Dendrobiums and Cattleya about 3000-3500. Noon day summer sun is about 10,000 foot candles. The Nellie can go closer to the window if the Phals are not suffering.

| Jerry, Thanks for the information. The Burrageara is a cross between Oncidium, Cochlioda, Odontoglossum and Miltonia. I got it as I live in a place that is cool in the winter and the plant is supposed to be 'temperature tolerant'. The plant is in bloom and has a wonderful scent so I wanted it near my desk. I can put it in the hall in a window with the same exposure, but there isn't anything growing in front of the window, so the sun is more direct. Mary |
