Problem on phals flower buds

Hi everyone, I love this forum and I have learned a lot about orchid care. This is my first time to post.

I live is southern CA area. I have 2 phals that are on spike that are placed on east facing window, so they both get morning sunlight. Our thermostat is set at 65F at night and during day time it's at mid 70s. I water using the skewer method and since it's winter, I fertilize once a month at 1/2 strength. The plants seem to be happy & healthy but I noticed on both of them that some of the buds are drying up/wilting. I am so frustrated because this is my first orchid to ever have a spike and it seems that I won't even see them bloom! By the way my phals used to be outside but I moved them inside when night temperature dropped to mid 50s but that was about a month ago.

Please help, is there something I can do to avoid further bud blast??

Keep them away from the kitchen. Keep them away from drafts. Probably should not have them in the window while in bud.

Thanks Cynthia. My phals are in the living room away from the kitchen. I will move them away from the window but will make sure they will still get some morning sunlight.

HI Acendana, I just recently had the same problem with my Phal. I had lost all of the big blooms on mine, so I move mine to a warmer room with just a tad of morning sun. mine Is nexst to the window I now have new buds forming on both branches. In fact It's doing so well ther that I just bought another one
