Phal W/Yellow Leaf and 2 Roots... Help!

Hi,
I'm helping my sister revive her phal. I don't know how it got this way, but it has a yellow leave and a bud. I took it out of it's pot to see the root condition and it only has two roots and one looks like it's growing

I cut one of the leaves since it was completely yellow, and wilted. I re-potted the phal in new mix. I don't know whether I should cut the bloom, and if so, at what point

Any suggestions on how to help this phal survive are greatly appreciated.
I wasn't able to post pics... but I will keep trying.
Thanks!

Ohhhh man! Is the leaf in the pic the one you cut off or is that one still attached? Are those roots mushy or firm? One almost looks like an old flower spike that was cut back.... I will look again. I would cut the spike to give the plant all the energy to produce new roots. Brook has a thread on here how she rescued a no root phal I think it was I will try to find that thread. I had a 2 root phal and oncidium I saved with the bag n sphag method.

While there are two roots there is hope!but the plant has disease has to be cleaned, maybe peroxide first then some pesticide in your area, lightly.Cutting spike will give strength to recover.
Repot and just moist keep in shaded area.
check potting for moisture no heavy watering.
Experts maybe advising more fully,I am not sure of bag treatment if humidity is good.I hope you are successful.

Thanks for your input. The leaf that's in the pic is still attached. The leaf I cut off was all yellow. The roots in the pics are firm.

I have re-potted in a new pot with more ventilation. I soaked in root hormone before re-potting.

Should I take it out of the new pot and re soak in peroxide?

Thanks again.
