| Odd Don Wimber
I have two plants of Phrag Don Wimber in bloom. I find it unusual that one opend say facing West and the next bloom opened west. Is this odd behavior by my Chid Last edited by kmarch; 03-13-2010 at 04:01 PM. Reason: genus correction |

I cant even pretend to know much about this one, but isnt this a phrag? Sure is pretty

It should be a Phrag not a Paph. And I don't care wich way it's opening (sorry), but it's sure is absolutely stunningly beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are so lucky to have chids like that and being able to bloom them..... .It's my favorite chid.............. |

hmmm...did you move or turn the plant while the buds were developing? that's the only thing i can think of. but hey, think of it this way....no matter which way you have the plant facing, you have at least one bloom to look at |

Thank you all. Yes, DUH it is a Phrag Senior moment. I did move it to a window and had the bloom facing west so I guess the next bloom followed the light and opened east. I kind of thought that but wanted all you experts to give me advice and actually to show off a bit that I can get these to bloom |

This is not uncommon in phrags. It was most likely caused by moving the plant as you described.
