The detail isn't clear enough for me to bet my life on it, but it looks like some kind of scratch, probably from one of those stem clamps. They do sometimes do a little damage to the exterior of a stem.

Get a magnifying glass out and really look close. You'll be able to see if it's just a couple of scratches that are all dried up. "Disease" usually isn't dry, and pests are usually bumps. So if it's a couple of dry dents, relax

Thanks, this is the first time that I didn't cut the spike all the way back when it was finished flowering (I learned about this here) & I am so excited that
I have two branches starting from original spike & I was so worried that maybe there was a disease or some kind of a pest eating at it.

Yes, with branches starting off the spike, I can see how it would concern you. I think you'll get to enjoy those branches

Agree with mehitabel, looks like some kind of mechanical damage to me.

Have you been taste testing your spike....lol. Seriously, I think it is mechanical damage as well. I did that to my spike last week while clamping it...oops! It is a little less minor than yours but looks similar. Just sit back and watch that baby grow!

BTW: Did you receive your mini mark yet?????? :-)

I thought one of the spots looked like a little hole being eaten by something
but I actually noticed this 10-14 days ago & looking at it every day it hasn't
gotten any worse.

No I haven't gotten my Mini Mark yet, I had an em that they were only shipped yesterday, weather was too cold on Mon. I am soo anxiously awaiting their arrival. I'll keep you posted.
