Angry Correct your tags or make new ones

It bugged me last night when I couldn't register my Zygopabstia bluebird for the show. It got looked up in orchidwiz, and it couldn't be found. That bothered me, since I recalled searching the RHS and finding it, since I didn't know what Z. bluebird was, which is what is on my tag.

I just did a check, becuase it's been bugging me all day since I haven't had a chance to double check that until now. The correct name of this is Zygopabstia blue bird. But if you search RHS with 'bluebird' instead of 'blue bird' it doesn't come up. I knew I should have had dave just check Zygopabstia, but with setup, everything was rather chaotic last night...also, this is the first time I've ever taken plants to a show, so I had no idea what I was supposed to do.

I am so disgusted The entire plant is in bloom and it looked freakin' awesome before i put it in the car. On the other hand, I had to slam on the brakes on the way to the show to avoid hitting someone and it took the brunt of the damage. Three of the blooms broke off, and now the plant looks much more ragged overall. I'm not sure how it would have compared to the other Zyopetalum (I'm assuming it would have been classed with those), but I'm still disappointed. I know any mechanical damage incurred on the way to the show like broken blooms can be put in the pot and the judges will still judge the blooms as it indicates that you did not pull them off.

Oh well. Maybe it'll bloom even better for me in time for another show.

Oh, that is so frustrating! I'm sorry your plant was damaged in the process. Here's to the next (and better) bloom!

Ouch! Like losing the World Series on a bad Umpire call.

I hate to say this, but you still haven't got it quite right. It should be Zygopabstia Blue Bird. The grex (hybrid name) should be capitalized.
