Help with reviving orchids!

I just moved from Los Angeles and have had 2 orchids for 8 years.

They are not doing well - they were left outside for 1 month by mistake and now the leaves are yellow and one has black spots on it.

Roots on one have turned black but there is about an inch and a half of a regular looking root left - is it worth keeping?

and second orchid has some green leaves and yellow mixed - not sure if I need to re-pot or just let it get used to the new place in Oakland..

thoughts?

Pictures would also help a lot, if you post 5 times you can then begin adding pics for us to see.

to the forum. Have you unpotted the one with the black roots and checked all of them, or is that just the visible roots?

Hello and to the forum.

Kmarch is right, we really need to know what kind of orchids you have. If you can give us pictures or a complete description we can figure it out and give you help.

more description of larger one

the larger one that gives me the row of flowers has several stalks and has lots of roots, some black and moist and others over the top of the bark and white

should I cut off any of the black roots?

I also just tripped over it and then the whole plant came out of the pot... the roots were just sitting on the top of the bark medium I have in the pot...

first of all welcome to the forum
the fist two pics are a Dendrobium
the last two photos are a Phalaenopsis
I don't hold much hope for the phal to be honest
I think the culture sheet from the AOS would be of some help for you please see link AOS | Members Only Area
