Baldan's Kaleidoscope still going!

I have a Baldans Kaleidoscope that has been in full bloom for about 3 months. It has 29 flowers. I hadn't paid too much attention to it, but today I noticed it's putting out 3 new buds at the tips of it's spikes! Is this typical of this hybrid? Is that sequential blooming or something else? Is this a type of phal that I shouldn't cut the spikes back when the flowers fall?

No. Not what is typically called a sequential bloomer in phals.
Sequential bloomers I own and am familiar with usually put out a few flowers on an initial spike and then will keep sending out a couple of blooms at a time out the tip for a long period of time - in my case it means 2-3 flowers at the tip of an increasingly long pendalous spike for over a year.......

Heres one tip with what I thought earlier was one bud, but then I looked closer and theres two! So that makes a total of 4 new buds!

Yes, that's typical of Baldan's K. It blooms over a long period of time, and the flowers last. (They do fade, tho). I suppose you could keep the spikes, many people do. I cut the spikes when they start to lose proportionality and look ugly to me. It re-spikes easily. Follow your own inclinations on this.

Baldan's K is extremely vigorous and floriferous.

Mike: your pictures of true sequential bloomers are very informative. Thanks

Okay, I've revised my opinion on phals, they've managed to prove me wrong in about every way that I disliked or thought they were boring.

I'm not sure if the Milts can change my mind though.

Awesome bloomer! Congratulations

Pretty, and I don't know what it smells like, nice arch, but I still don't like the flower shape. I haven't seen a mini milt though. I do like the mini phals more than the bigger ones for the most part. I do like the milt hybrids with the spider orchids or other hybrid types, but I don't like the straight milts so far.
