Paph slowly spreading it's wings....

I got this Paph with a bud, so I can see how they open their blooms. I was running upstairs every 30 min or so to see him doing it (last weekend). He is not in the hurry, that's for sure. But almost there.....
Just wanted to share...........

As Kevin said, they are no rush what so ever to open, and will do it in their own good, slow time.

I remember my first flowering, like you, every few minutes checking on it. B$#@y thing took 2 months to fully open, and that was only 2 buds, then the next 3 took another couple of months to do their job.

These days, apart from seeing them when I water them, I don't take much notice of my Paphs,........ when it happens, it happens I have learnt.

It was a Paph Prime Child with a 2 foot long influorescence and 5 buds sequentially opening. Didn't flower last year, so hoping it "wakes up" this year.

I think my phals trick me and then open when I'm not home Beautiful! I always want to see what I'm getting so far, so I've been buying plants when they've already got flowers open...so I haven't seen too many flowers open yet, unless it's phals or cat variants.

That also reminds me of my first paph, I was hesistant about buying it at first because I wasn't sure if the flower was starting to die or not...turns out it wasn't fully opened. I wouldn't have known that unless the seller at the IL Orchid show hadn't pointed that out to me.
