moving to Seattle - which orchids should I leave behind?

I am moving from San Francisco to Seattle next month. I wonder if some of my orchids would be better off were I to find a new home for them in San Francisco rather than move them with me to Seattle given. Here in San Francisco all my orchids have lived inside an apartment and done well to varying degrees. Here's a short list of the plant and I wonder if anyone - especially someone with experience growing in the Puget Sound area - has any input in terms of which I should move with me and which I should leave in San Franciso.

Orchids that have done well for me in my San Francisco apartment: (have rebloomed for me)

Oda. George McMahon
Ctna Why Not
Encyclia tampensis
Cadetia taylor
Dendrochilum magnum

Orchids that have done OK for me (have put out growth but no reblooms):

Maxillaria tenuifolia
Max. sophronitis
Dendrochilum glumaceum
Slc. Jewel Box

Orchids that have survived:
Sarcochilus hartmannii

All input appreciated! Thanks!

I live in the Puget Sound area and grow a wide variety of orchids in my home. I use supplemental lighting but have lots of windows in my house.
I also grow Cymbidiums outside until frost and they really seem to like it.

Good luck!

Since you're growing indoors everything depends on the conditions in your new apartment/home in Seattle. Since we don't know what those new conditions will be it's impossible to say for sure how your plants will do in them. But all of the plants you've listed (with only a couple of exceptions) are orchids that are frequently grown in the home. If you can grow them in your apt in SF you can probably grow all of them in your new place in Seattle. I'd take them all and see which ones do well.

I agree with Kmarch, I couldn't leave any either. My husband wants us to move because of the humidity here in Alabama and I ask him what about my orchids? I would have to take all of them LOL And I would at least try. Unless you don't mind giving them up . I don't know how many you have, I have 126+. It would be easier to start over . But if you worried about the orchids making it you could always get lights for them.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I don't have so many that I can't take them all with me and see how they do! I do have a few Cymbidiums which stay outside all year here in San Francisco. They are too large to come indoors - so in Seattle it begs the question, where do they spend the winter?

My Cym's come into the house during winter, so I do a rearrange and listen to my husband fuss because the orchids are taking up so much room!! I leave them out for as long as possible and put them back out as soon as no frost.

im up here and thou i don't know a ton about all this, i seem to be having great luck with mine.

i think we just tend to more south windows than east and work a little harder at keeping the humidity up with we use heaters. otherwise SF and Seattle are not as different as you might think, i lived in SF for years, it is definitely sunnier and milder, but not wholly too far off.
