Cooling phals in spike?

Hi.....I have been carrying my phals outside at night for their cooling period and bringing them back inside during the day. My question is, I have 3 new phals that are spiking now. Should I take them outside also or will it affect the spike?

Also I have a lovely phal in spike that seems to have stalled. Any advice on getting it started again?

Thanks, Katie

the debate on cooling phals to spike is ongoing on several forums. my take is if they have started to spike you can keep them indoors providing that they are allowed to acclimate to the new conditions indoors.make adjustments if needed. stalled spikes or failure to spike can come from a variety of sources, temp. drop is thought to be one of them.

You might want to try misting the stalled spike with a bottle of tomato set, the one with Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA), for a while if nothing else helps. Cynthia
