Question Gastrochilus dasypogon

Any tips on growing it well, i've had one a few months and it's just finishing blooming, but leaves look a little droopy. It's mounted, misted everyday and water weekly. I have it growing in a south window, does this sound right?

I have mine in low light like a Phalaenopsis, tho my records show it as needing higher light, and I think Phal temperatures are probbaly good too, intermediate to warm. Mine is potted, and gets watered just before it drys out. I've had this for a little over a year, and the plant must have been jungle collected as it really looked rough when I got it from Ray Rands, mostly or totally jungle collected stuff, and it is slowly out growing its beat-up condition. So far it has been a really good bloomer, inspite of the low light. Cynthia

Cynthia, who is Ray Rand and can anyone buy from him? :-) I seen you mention him before and it sounds like he has some very interesting orchids.
Thanks

I think Ray Rands is slowing down a bit, maybe retirement is coming. He has adds from time to time in the Orchids magazine, and I haven't seen anything new offered lately. His stuff is pretty rough and not for the beginner. The prices are very low, but don't expect everything to survive. Also, he has a bad habit of making a lot of substitutions. He never made the jump to computer literacy, so he is not on the internet, and you can't email him. But if someone wants to call him and asked if he has a list of plants for sale, his number is 818-707-3410. He is in Malibu, California, tho no where near the Ocean. Cynthia
