Question about My Burrageara

I have 2 Burr. One I bought in Jan. and one I just got recently. The PBs on both of them are wrinkled. Is this normal or do they need more water

I have a Burr. Stefan Isler 'Lava Flow" and the older bulbs are definitely wrinkled. The newer ones come out smooth and get more texture as they mature, it seems. I've had this one several years and it blooms regularly. Right now it is just putting out new growth, however.

I have a Burr. Kilauea 'Volcano Queen' I got from JBigio the first of the year. My newest P bulb looks nice and smooth like your center one. The two older ones are a bit more wrinkly. I checked my book for care and didn't really learn anything on light and water needs. I did learn it was named after Albert C. Burrage, first president of the American Orchid Society. It is an Onc type so I guess mod light and dry in between waterings. I'm hoping someone knows this info and replies.
But..... I do have a spike!! It popped up out of no where about two weeks ago.
Or that is when I saw it and said "how did I miss that?"

I don't grow any Burragearas, but I think they are treated similar to Beallaras which I have a few of. I keep them in good light, (just behind my Catts in a south window.) I water them daily, but they're in small pots and dry quickly! In nature, they get soaked daily, from rain storms, but dry quickly. If the bulb is wrinkling, it may need more water- just don't let it sit in wetness for any length of time.

I have a Burr Kilauea 'Volcano Queen' that I got from Joe too! It has a spike and new growth. The old psudobulbs are wrinkled also. I water once a day and let it set a little while in the water when I fertilize. It seems to be liking it!

Thanks all. I guess a little wrinkling is normal for this one.

Congratulations to you Lynne and Jacqui on your new spikes.
