soil amendment for paphs?

so i have about a half dozen paphs, mostly of the poofy pink variety, and one maudiae; they're all growing, but the maudiae-type is the only one that's not being glacially slow. should i be adding oyster shell or anything like that?? thx...

I'm surprised to hear that the Maudiae-type is the slow one as they are usually the faster growing paphs. What are your temps like? Maudiae-types like it warmer than Parvis.

Oyster shell or another calcium supplement is ok but not necessary.

actually the maudiae is the one going faster--the parvi's are crawling. they're in the front window with everybody else--temps are probably approaching the high 70's during the day, and low 70's or 70 overnight. fan on them 22/7. humidity right now near 70% on the windowsill.

at the rate the delanatii is going, it will bloom sometime around the next presidential election.

Lots of different ways and opinions on how to grow Paphs.
On repotting each year I add a product we call Sel-Grit in Australia.
It is just a small limestone pebble, size about between 1/16 to 1/8 or so of an inch.
I buy it from the Agg produce store.
It is just crushed limestone used as a supplement for the chooks.
Works as a slow release lime supplement, keeps the mix sweet.
Works for me

The Parvis are among the slowest growers.
