Question My Cymbidium turned yellow

I have a rather large cybidium in a 10 inch plastic pot w/ good drainage. It has been in the pot for about 1 year. Some new growth over the winter. It has been outside and watered 2 times a week. As the temps get warmer I will probably increase to 3 times. It is under a covered deck, faces south and has been getting direct sunlight on occasion. My question is this -- I watered it this past friday and today (Sunday) a small psuedobulb and its leaves has turned completely yellow. I would have noticed gradual yellowing if it was happening. But Green to completely yellow in 2 days? Is it burned? Too much water? The rest of the plant is normal. 2 other cymbids in the same type of pots and conditions -- Normal with more new growth..

dra, can you post a picture of the plant? That may be helpful.

One possiblity is that it could be an older pseudobulb which is going dormant. That could explain the relatively quick change. Do you see any sign of a new bud developing off the pseudobulb?

I agree with boffin76. Might be just a natural event. Just make sure pseudobulb stays firm and is not getting soft. Softening can mean rot and bacterial infection.

How long have you had it outside in MI? Watering any container plant in MI 2 x a week this time of year might be too much water.

the psuedobulb is firm. No signs of mush. The leaves are still upright. All looks and feels good. Just ywllow instead of green. Can you determine the age of the bulb by the size? It is the smallest (1/4 the size) among the 4 other psuedobulbs. No new growth from this specific bulb.
