Question Colmanara sphacante? Rhizome division?

Just bought a "Colmanara Sphacante" but find no Google matches or book references. Other name(s)? Recommended sources?
Above plant needs division. An orchid source recommends using a substance to seal the cut(s), as one would when removing a tree branch. Another source recommends simple wax or glue. Recommendations? Thanks & Aloha..

You can use cinnamon or sulfur to protect the cuts, but I would not use any other item, as I have not heard of any orchid growers using anything else. I checked registration records, and it hasn't been registered yet. So, no help from me. Be sure to keep three bulbs on each division. If any divisions have less than three mature bulbs, they will not bloom for another year or two. Cynthia

Thanks

Thanks re: division advice; search continues for info on care for plant. Bought plant w/ about 13 pseudobulbs & it's about 1/2 out of pot, so definitely ready for division. Label indicated AM/AOS & I got it for $12, so I feel I got a good deal, despite lack of spike remnants in last few years.

If it is awarded, I would expect to find info. I wonder if there is a misprint on the label. Grow this as you would an Oncidium. Cynthia

NBS = near blooming size
AOS stands for American Orchid Society, the organization that awards orchids. So the awards they give in order of highest to lowest are:

FCC = First Class Certificate
AM = Award of Merit
HCC = Highly Commended Certificate

There are other awards for things like cultural (CCM, certificate of cultural merit?), a group of seedlings from the same pod (dont know what that is called), botanical merit (CBM?), and probably a few others.
