2 spikes

Hi eveyrone,

I had an interesting surprise when I water my chids 2 weeks ago. One of my oncidium is giving me two new spikes. But really, I at this stage of the growth, I am a bit baffled. The bulb is not even formed yet. And I have repotted this baby just 2 months ago and she didnt like it. The roots ball was thick, it took me 1h30 to repot it.
See the pics. I know that the 2d pic is out of focus, but you can see 2d spike coming out.

I am just surprised that she is giving 2 spikes at that stage... but I am happy I will get flowers sooner than expected

Nice. Congrats. on the double spike. I don't know much about Oncidiums but seems like they like to spike from new growth. Mine did from a new immature growth as well.

Usually, the spike on this oncidium will not start before the bulb is fat, but there is a first for everything
Here a pic this chid in flower, I think it is a Bllra. Peggy Ruth Carpenter
