| It's a fly orchid Bill. Would love to know how you put the image up. I am still getting a message telling me my files are not valid. No different to the ones I put up in the Pests section on scale. ![]()

| Tee hee, tee hee. OK, here is what I did, after a lot of playing around. I broungt up my image on my picture hosting site. I changed to a smaller version (medium on pbase) so that the file size would be small (I am already using a low quality to shrink the file size). Then I added .jpg to the end of the address, since the address on pbase does not normally have this extension, then copied it to the clip board (used windows 'copy'). Then, in the O Geeks posting window, I clicked on the 'insert immage' button above the window, and OG opens a window with a 'http:' as a starter for your entry. I over wrote this with a paste from the clip board and clicked on what ever button this little window had. This put the address of my picture in the posting window with some sort of bracketted word on each end that I think was [imag]. Post and then there it is. Cynthia |

| Bill, you might want to think twice about putting somebody elses picture on you web hosting site. Some picture owners get very unpleasant about this. The best thing to do is to get the address of the picture where you find it, and post it here, or maybe even link to it the way you would link to your own picture. Cynthia |

| Here's the image I am trying to upload from my Web page, and OG won't even accept the URL either. http://www.users.on.net/~op_ink/AD/Spider_Orchid.pdf This pdf file is a bit bigger than the OG site will accept, but I only did that so that you can see it, due to the fact I can't upload it. This is a small Australian native called a Spider Orchid, and I can supply the botanical name if you are interested, thought you would like to see one seeing we are on the topic of natives. Still can't work out why the site won't allow SIMPLE uploads???

| Anton, The problem is that you are trying to upload an Adobe PDF file. The site does not accept this type of photo file. The bulletin board also will not accept Adobe Photoshop files .psd It will also reject files over 100K. Otherwise it would fill the server rapidly. Also larger files do not display properly, Convert you photos to .jpg and reduce the size to 600 pixels on the longest side, then save it at quality level 6-7 and you should have a 40-60K file that will display an excellent 6-8 inch photo on everyones screen. Most computer terminal display at 72 pixels per inch (dpi) and some high resolution at 96 dpi. Any file larger than this will not fit on a screen and you have to move around the image t see it all.

| Hi, Jerry! As additional option we have the attachments: the simplest way of posting pictures directly from our computer.Earlier I used it but doesn't work any more. WHY?(I've just tried an 600x450 JPEG, size 63 KB.) Uploading to a website seems to much work, only for illustrate a question... Aniko. |
