Summeer blooming phal hybrids II -- spikes set since Mar

Spikes on the following phal hybrids were set during March and April on carts that go out on sunny days and come indoors for protection at night.

None of these have bloomed yet. As in the previous post, dominant ancestry is given.

Br Sara Gold 'Peach', 56% ambo and venosa.

I-Hsin Sun Beauty, large waxy cream flower with magenta dots. 25% ambo and lueddemanniana.

Yellow Butterfly, waxy pale yellow. 75%luedde, vio and ambo.

Golden Bells 'Delight', waxy gold with pale bars. 75% venosa and luedde.

I-Hsin Spot Eagle, smaller waxy, round magentaflowers with dark bars. luedde, gigantea and venosa 64%

HP Norton first bloom red?, luedde, vio and gigantea, 52%

Sogo Twinkle x Fair Tales, first bloom multiflora 50% equestris

Sogo Smith, very dark velvety raspberry. 3rd time it's spiked this time of year, 31% amabilis, no summer blooming ancestry to speak of. Don't know why it spikes this time of year.

Orchid World 'Sweet Fragrance' large waxy yellow with red bars. ambo, luedde and vio, 74%

Sweet Memory 'CY' first bloom for me, violace and ambo, 75%

I-Hsin Snow Bear, big white standard. amabilis 40%. No idea why it's spiking now.

Brother Sara Gold 'Sogo' Another Sara Gold

Salu Spot x Timothy Christopher. Waxy yellow multiflora. luedde and ambo, 28%

Sogo Amar, white multiflora. amablis 52%, equestris 21%

Auspice's Red Sun, first blooming, luedde 20%

Nobyy's Amy 'Blanca' white Nobby's Amy, a multiflora. equestris 28%, amabilis 27%

Two others, already blooming set 2nd or third spikes in a South window:

Brother Cassangold waxy yellow multiflora equestris and venosa, 25% each.

Meidar Spot, large creamy white with magenta dots. amabilis 25%

Summing up, I'd say every 5-6" phal that finished blooming more than 4 months ago set spikes in March or April on the indoor-outdoor carts.

Any laws of spiking detected:

1. They spike if they have summer-blooming ancestry.

2. They spike as the light intensity increases in spring for about 6 weeks. More in April than March, more in March than in Feb.

3. Sometimes they spike if they haven't spiked in the last 4 months or so, regardless of ancestry.
