Anyone using rotenone for rooting and cuttings?

I used to use it to root african violet cuttings all the time. Have used it on occasion to start other plants as well. Don't know that getting a little on your finger is anything like getting it into your bloodstream like the rat study - but it is certainly good information to keep in mind. Thanks for sharing! mike

Well, I recall forum members recommending dusting the roots during repotting with the stuff. So I sort of thought they might be getting a lot of the dust in the air and breathing it. That could well be as effective as in the blood stream. And as I don't recall any mention of equivalent amounts, maybe the study used extremely small amounts. Cynthia

OK, false alarm. Rotenone and Rootone are to different chemicals. Rootone is a manufacturers name for a mixture of other chemicals that are use for rooting plants. Cynthia

LOL - Now that I look at the container and see Rootone F - yep! You are most certainly correct. Funny how those little letters can jump around and get you just a wee confused!
