3 spikes

I purchased my mum for mother's day last year a pot of orchid which i dont know the name for. Its got very nice fragrance flowers and quite unique in colour and shape. This year its got 3 spikes, quite happy with the growth.

The plant has some black spots, but has recovered alots since purchased.

Hey that's pretty good, my Zygo doesn't have that many and it's a bigger plant. Whatever you are doing.......keep doing it.

This is just my observation from having gone to three or four orchid shows in the last few months, but it seems there's often a few very prominent offerings of an orchid species that dominates each show. The show I attended in January here in Fort Lauderdale had bunches and bunches of the Zygo's...the ones with the dark purple lip (and yes, of COURSE I bought one). The next two shows I attended only had a few of those, but had gazillions of the Den aggregatum, and also a terrestrial that escapes but wasn't the epidendren...

Do you see this sort of thing in Australia? Do you suppose it's related to what's in predominately in bloom? I'm eager to see what the 'featured' orchids will be at the Redlands show in May...
