Den kingianum question?

My kingianum has just now started a spike. I've kept it relatively dry over the winter, but now that it is spiking, should I start watering or should I wait for new growth? I've never grown this one before. BTW I do have it mounted.

Any suggestions?

Don't mount, it is a terrestrial and needs to be in a pot.

I keep my mix damp all year round, not wet, but damp and they are as happy as the proverbial pigs in you know what.
My mix is large Cattleya mix with 3/4" cubes of polystyrene foam, in other words, a very open mix so it doesn't saturate.

There would be around 10 to 12 in my collection. When spiking I feed once a week.

Anton, thanks, I'll pot it up then here soon. I had mounted it last summer, as I had a bad habit of killing these ones, so I wanted to try something new. Although I've learned a lot about growing orchids since I tried (killed) one of these. Again, thanks.
