Angry i HATE when that happens--!!

so i did battle with my Lc today--divided it and potted up the back half in s/h; there was a new growth on the back half (as well as on the front half) and i was SO CAREFUL not to break the little thing while i was dividing--and then i went and broke it while i was repotting.

ok carry on.

Sometimes there aren't enough curse words to express that anger. Oh, I know...

I have found that they will throw another new growth, even from a secondary node very quickly when this happens. Not that I have ever done that.......This week

So that was what I hear while trenching 35' feet of conduit this morning in the back yard. I thought it was someone getting cut off. You have my condolences.

hee!

yes, i'm hoping it will either magically heal, or throw a growth from somewhere else. all else fails, i still have the front half. -sigh-

i swear i'm gonna throw 'em all out and grow cacti.

Janet~ you could try and use an Elmer's glue and cinnamon paste to hold the break together. It might seal itself and fully heal.

the media is holding the growth in place; maybe it'll be ok. i doubt it will grow into anything big; i'm just hoping it has another node to throw another pbulb. we shall see.

You are not alone, i thought i was very careful too, i broke 3 bulbo spikes & bulbo don't give off a lot of spikes and they are very very slow growing!

I'm sure it will grow another! Hang in there.

Cheers!

Mother Nature is pretty smart. She put secondary growing points in back of the ones you see. I'm sure the plant will grow another new pbulb.

I've done this, this week myself (i'm in repotting mode) they usually do quickly send out a new one.

MY pet peeve is the over tall dendrobiums that have to be underpotted, and then always fall over. I picked up two at the show a few weeks ago, they were bare roots and I can tell that the very small pot I have them in is larger than what they WERE in, but every time I move anything near them they fall over and spill all the media out. I'm ALWAYS knocking something over and spilling out the media. grrrrr.

i have to put my big ones in cache pots--and they're *already* in lava rock in clay pots. they still fall over. so they're sitting in even bigger clay pots.
