My Vanda In bloom

This morning I got a surprise from one of my Vandas, I got it about 3weeks ago
and already it has a little spike in it, and then I forgot about it. And this
morning while I was watering, I noticed that it has already bloomed and it was a
pretty sight, I almost cried, the wife was also surprised because i was calling to
her and she taught that there must be a fire or something.

anyways hope you'll enjoy this as we did.

Beautiful! I wish I had the humidity for vandas! I like you creative mountings in the background too!

Thanks, I find that Vandas is the most easiest orchid to grow in our weather, thus every
one that I know of that like orchids always starts with Vandas.

if you have the right weather , everything you grow is easy. You probably can't grow slipper orchid that is native to North America. But we have thousand of species and hybrid to choose from why bother right?

yeah, although slipper orchid is in my list of must have's im not that eager to have it yet
as i am more into for a local species if possible. and yes, we have do have thousands to
choose from that suits our weather perfectly.

Congrats on the bloom. Looks like they like whatever you are doing to it. I love all the pretty vandas in PI. Especially ones on the logs full of blooms.

yep, since i started caring for vandas it has always intrigued me, i mean it can live without
media you can just hang it there and the roots just go crazy, and still it thrives, thats why
i always opt for vandas to be hang to show those wonderful roots instead of being
mounted on logs. Also when you water them the roots just go from white to green in a
matter of seconds, thats nature for you i guess..... and for those complaining about
vandas being too needy for water? i dont have that problem, watering my plants is
therapeutic for, in the morning the first thing i do is water them and when i came home
from work the first thing i do is water them also, and afterwards i just sit there among
the plants and just look at them, it has never failed to relax me. The wife is starting
to get jealous tho.
