Need help with my Catts

Hi, this is my first post on this forum and I was hoping someone could help mi with my latest problem. This terrible thing has happened over the last 2 days. Three of my Catt's have developed some weird spots under the leaves and it looks like something bad. There are other Catt's right next to them that are not affected by this at all only this three...Can anybody please tell me what this could be?

The spots appear somewhat red to purple. This is very common. Even if they were black it would not necessarily be serious.

Black spots that are soft and mushy are bad. The rot will expand rapidly and can kill a plant. If the spots are not growing they can be ignored. When you have black rot that is spreading cut the leaf quickly. It can kill a plant in days. But most spots are harmless.

Many black spots can develope because the plant is allowed to have wet leaves when the temperature starts to fall, or they are allowed to get too cold for their preferences, and loose some of their resistance to fungi. Are you sure these are new spots, and were not there when you received the plants? Spots can be old scars from bug bites in a previous life, but where the bugs were eliminated, the scars would remain. And some times we are not quite sure why they have the scars. In nature, these plants would look a great deal worse than your plants, and they live and grow just fine. Cynthia

Hi Winterwhite in North Chatham! Do you belong to the local orchid society? I would like to join it some time after Christmas.

Everybody,

My Catts are doing well. Thank you for your reassuring responses.
