Forgive me, I'm having an off day.

Try Casa de Las Orchquideas They specialize in Cyms. Actually we've talked a lot about them before.

Ha!! Now you are speaking my language!!

Santa Barbara Orchid Estate has just about any cym you could dream of and their search engine is incredible. Santa Barbara Orchid Estate Home Page

Cal orchids Cal Orchid Front Page is across the street from SBOE. They have lots of cyms but their website is lacking.

Hatfields Orchids (also in Santa Barbara) Hatfield Orchids has some beauties too but their website doesn't show most of what they have. They seem to only sell seedlings and not the huge plants they have, shipping I am sure is cost prohibitive. If you ever drive down this way you will need a trailer to get them all home!

The Santa Barbara International Orchid Show is coming up soon, March 20-22. It is a fabulous show and all of the orchid nurseries have open houses on the show days. I bought a HUGE cascading cym from Hatfields in a 10" pot for $60! It took up most of the back of my SUV and we were lucky to get all of my purchases home with us.

If you are serious about getting some serious cyms, it would make a lovely weekend trip!

List??? Plan??? it all goes to hell the minute I walk in the door!!!

Andys Orchids will be there too and they have lots of Neos. They specialize in species and mounts and the selection is fantastic. They are based in San Diego so they can bring lots of stuff easily!

Connie, I hope that Jacqui can meet you at the show! Though, I am sure that you will both "enable" each other and come home with many new babies!!!

Just remind her to not forget her big sis!

PhalPal,
Ok, now youve gone and done it. I had been putting off going down to SB because I knew that I would have to stop and just "look @ the orchids" there. Of course, looking at orchids is like looking at a puppy. You just know you are going to take one or more home. LOL. Might try and get down there for the show. It will really depend on what I buy at the SF orchid expo.

I don't have a prayer in getting my husband to take me to SB. Unless i win a million bucks before the show. I want to go soooo bad!!! The SF Expo. is more promising since it's so close to us. I better start nagging and begging now.

Oh Solay, Solay, Solay, my dear girl......here is how you deal with such a circumstance........
(2007) I got in the car and drove myself to Santa Barbara, took the SUV, and filled it with over $600 in orchids from Santa Barbara Orchid Estate. (2008) He came with me and we made a weekend out of it, but he was there to supervise (in his mind). In my mind, I had an orchid shopping sherpa and he carried all the orchids I was buying, yet again filling the same SUV. Either way, it was a win-win for me!!

The only problem is I don't like to drive very far from home. He's the driver in this family. I scared him off the last time we went to SB. Ended up spending way too much and then the following winter killed almost every orchid I bought.

I think your right about training. I've been too lenient. Tough love is in order. Hahaha!!!
