Repot this Onc ?

I have mentioned this in other threads. Now I ask. Should I repot this onc? Three to four years ago I repotted into a much bigger basket. (from pot to basket) It has been in a ligustrum tree in dappled sun/shade largely ignored. Last year I finally had one spike. It seems to be happy. But it seems filled out as well. Would it benefit from a repot? Or do I leave him alone for now? There are about three new growths. It is in an eight basket. I'm not even sure what I could graduate to i.e. pot selection.

Thanks for input.

I would suggest to leave this alone. This would be good to force it to bloom by using 67 fertilizer. (Does not work all the time)

Your lack of flowers could be partly from re-potting the last time. Onc grow roots very slowly and do not develop the large masses of roots like Cattleya.

Your plant looks excellent.

Baskets never have to be re-potted until they fall apart. As the plant gets larger it adapts to growing bare root. The old bark washes out of the basket unlike a pot where it settles to the bottom and plugs the pot.

As it gets bigger you can cut divisions off the side or place the entire basket into a larger basket. After all the basket is just more bark.

Looks really good. Maybe the plant just needs more light to spike.

I would leave it alone too. Eventually the plant will grow to cover even the outside of the basket.

Now that it has filled its pot maybe you will get a good show of flowers. It was busy filling its pot before, now its not and it can put some energy into flowers.

Thanks again for the input everyone. I appreciate your compliments on the plant and I do get credit for its growth by neglect. Lets hope for many happy years to come. I too think that I over potted a while back and thus no blooms. So its just now gearing up for a nice show this summer?
