plant ID

I was given these today. They are a type of Den but what type I don't know. Could someone give me a clue? IE; is it a nobilie type etc. I was told they had red flowers. LOL. Big help there. Both are the same. One is a division of the other.

Hi Hummer,

It doesn't appear to be a nobile type. There aren't many dens with red flowers so maybe when it's in bloom you'll be able to get an ID.

Hi, Hummer,
They look like phal-type dens to me. Easy to grow - Lots of light/sun and, at least here during the summer growing season, water it like it's on fire. Nice haul, great price.

Look for old bloom spikes. If they are at the tips of the canes, then the plant is a dendrobium-phalaenopsis type. If they are up and down the canes, then the plant is a dendrobium nobile type. You will notice I said "type." There are dozens of dendrobiums, and they could be any kind. But the "type" indicates the method of culture they will need.

that's a type of Den? wow, i would have called that one out to be an Epidendrum (and these do have red flowers too)!

i'd be curious to see what type of Den it is. hard to say w/o the flowers to give us a clue. keep us posted!

Me too...I don't think it's a den at all. Looks like an Epi. There are only very few red-flowered dendrobiums and none of them have plant parts that look like that.
